Come Closer

“Come Closer”, made me a believer. This down-tempo groove instantly reminded me of some of Sade’s work – but with a modern flare. A sexy song with sultry vocal stylings

Come Closer

Music & lyrics Frances Livings, music Volker Schwanke © 2002

1. Many nights, when the candles
have burned down low
and my dreams start to mingle
with the cushions and flow
to a longing for you – to hold me close

Is there no other destination?
just this – tied up desperation?
this longing for you – to hold me close

So close, so close, so close, so come closer
So close, so close, so close, so come closer
So close, so close, so close, come closer to me now 2 x

2. Days have passed of being here on my own
of hearing my own paces, while I endlessly roam
flicking through images imprinted in my mind
gazing into the blue – with this picture of you
gazing into the blue – with this picture of you

So close, so close, so close, so come closer
So close, so close, so close, so come closer
So close, so close, so close, come closer to me now 2 x

3. Is there no cure to this pain
that you may never again – come closer?
just this – tied up desperation
just this – longing, longing destination
this longing for you – to come closer to me now

Come closer, come closer to me now …..
